Why The World Should Ask 'Am I Number 12

The number of new cases in the U.S. each year is approximately 73,000, a decline from the 1980s when the average was 260,000. Most people will get better without any intervention, but about 1-3% become carriers - chronically infected and able to continue to infect others. Hepatitis D and E are rare in the U.S. and Hepatitis E is spread in a similar fashion to hepatitis A and is found primarily in Asia, Africa, and South America. Although hepatitis A is becoming more common in developed areas such as the US, Canada, Western Europe, Japan, Australia and New Zealand, it occurs much more frequently in areas of the world that are less developed, such as Central America and Africa. For protection, travelers should be aware of launch “Why The World Should Ask 'Am I Number 12?”. A New Campaign Launches to Increase Hepatitis Awareness to reduce the progress of this disease

Baguio City Philippines

Burnham Park, located at the center of the city, is named after the city's planner, Daniel Burnham. It features a man-made lagoon where people can hire a banca (rowboat). The park also has bicycle areas, and once had a skating rink. At the northeast portion is a soccer field with a huge a stage at one end where many concerts are performed.

is a majestic church built on top of a hill, and is seen from many parts of the city.

Session Road is the main avenue of the city and is its commercial center. Along the main street and sidestreets are numerous shops, restaurants, billiard halls, and duckpin bowling alleys.

Camp John Hay, once a military recreational camp of the Americans during World War II, it is now a popular destination for people who wish to see the pine forests in the city. It also boasts of a sprawling country club with a full 18-hole golf course as well as many trendy restaurants and a rather nice hotel called The Manor.

Baguio Botanical Garden, also known as the Igorot Village contains many Igorot houses amidst various flora and fauna that grow in the cool climate of the city. Tourists can usually take pictures with the Igorot tribesmen dressed in their traditional costume.

The Orchidarium is a showcase for the various breeds of flowers and plants that are grown in the region around Baguio.

Maryknoll Ecological Sanctuary is a haven for free minds and bodies. The Eco-tour refreshes the eyes with nature's feast of flowers. The gallery inspires one's creativity.

Asin Hot Springs, which is actually located in Benguet but is considered a City resource, contains a natural hotspring. The City and other private concerns have built swimming pools for tourists. The area is very under-developed but is still a place that tourists should visit.

Tom is waiting in the lobby to get on the train. But suddenly nature is calling, and he has to ask his friend who is sitting right next to him for help....

Tom: Can you do me a favor?
Jamie: Sure. What is it?
Tom: Can you keep an eye on my bag, please? Nature's calling.
Jamie: Sure. Will you be long?
Tom: No. I just want to use the bathroom.
Jamie: Go ahead. It'll be safe with me.

You should've kept an eye on it.

Tom fell asleep when he was waiting in the lounge for his plane to arrive. When he woke up, he found his backpack no longer there. He was very anxious and asked Mary about it....

Tom: Where is my backpack?
Mary: I don't know. Where did you leave it?
Tom: I just put it on the chair a while ago, but now it's gone.
Mary: Are you sure?
Tom: Of course, I'm sure! I bet someone stole it.
Mary: Well, you should've kept an eye on it.

Can you save my place, please?

Jill is waiting in line to buy some tickets for a concert coming up in a few days, but suddenly....

Manager: (Put off the headphones.) I'm sorry. What did you just say?
Gerald: Oh. Will someone be using this seat?
Manager: No. You can take it.
Gerald: Would you mind moving over one seat so my wife and I can sit together?
Manager: No, not at all.

I really miss the comforts of home.

Harry just came back from a vacation in Africa. He told his friend how badly he had missed the comforts of home.

Gabby: Hi, Harry, it's great to see you again. I heard you've traveled a lot recently.
Harry: Yeah. In the past three months I traveled to many countries in Africa.
Gabby: Well, I really envy you! Did you pet a hyena? (Harry is dumbfounded.) I'm just kidding.
Harry: Well, I didn't pet a hyena, but I was once chased by a rhino, and it was fun!
Gabby: Are you serious?
Harry: No. I'm just kidding.
Gabby: You really scared the heck out of me.
Harry: (Laughing....) Well, I really missed the comforts of home. Now I just want to take a break. A long break!

East or west, home is the best.

Jackie has been traveling a lot recently and is becoming a little tired of hotels and hotel food.

Frank: I heard you took a trip to Mexico.

Frank: How did you like it?

Louise: Did you forget to check the gas?
Larry: Oh, I'm low on gas. I've got to refill the tank.
Louise: Well, there's a gas station across the street and it's not too expensive. About $1.19 per gallon for the mid-grade.
Larry: Let's try that. (Larry parks the car by the gas pump.) Oh, that's great! The pump is out of order.
Louise: Looks like we've been followed by bad luck all day long.
Larry: Oh, come on. Let's try another pump. No big deal!

We're only staying overnight.

On their way to San Francisco, Roy decides to stop in a small town and stay there overnight....

Clerk: How large is your party?
Roy: Three. Two adults and one child.
Clerk: Let's see. We have a room with two double beds. How many nights?
Roy: Just one. We're only staying overnight.

Stay and Serve

Almost everyday three thousand Filipinos are leaving the country to work abroad. Many are forced to leave their families behind to find more opportunities that can give them a decent livelihood, a kind of opportunity that our country cannot give. We believe that when we go out of our country, we will earn dollars and this will be enough to raise our families. But sad to say leaving a poverty stricken country cannot do good to our present situation.

We all have experienced oil price hikes; the towering prices unnecessary commodities and almost everything beyond our pocket’s reach because of price inflation. This simply shows that many of our bretheren cannot live a decent life and almost everyone is dreaming of getting away from the Philippines.

As young people, we have our share in solving the problems that we are facing. We will be the next generation who will run this country in the future, and we cannot afford to fail.

We young people must cultivate nationalism and love for what is truly ours in our homes, and let these virtues spread towards our neighbors, classmates, friends, and relatives.

My friends please do not consider Philippines as sinking vessel that needs to be abandoned rather consider it as our home, a home that needs our presence.

Every individual has different goals I myself have my own vision- to become journalist someday. Some of you must be aiming to become doctors, nurses, teachers, policemen, business tycoons and other occupations that interest you. Is that vision mainly for you alone? Did you ever think of sharing your vision to our country?

Being a journalist does want ignorance to be replaced by open-mindedness and allow Filipinos to open their eye to reality? Nowadays, there are many anomalies left uncovered abuses and relevant cases that have been unattended and almost forgotten. You who is equipped with the courage and power of the camera, microphone and pen is desperately needed to bring forth the light. You are the watchdog of justice guiding social and public welfare. We salute you when you stand for your country just by exposing evil.

I believe there is a bright future ahead of us if we start being part of our country’s goals and dreams. Before giving our service to other nations. Let us first give our best to our country. She seeks commitment and loyalty Friends; ladies and gentlemen our country needs us. Let us give the service she deserves. Let us stay serve and succeed
